Bedroom Furniture

Are you in the mood to remodel your bedroom by purchasing new bedroom furniture?  Today’s trends lend themselves to being eclectic.  Not all pieces have to match.  You might have a beautiful dresser that you want to keep, but want a new bed and headboard.  It is certainly not necessary to have two matching night tables.  Look for pieces that you find interesting and are the right size for your room.

Choose a soothing color for your bedroom, so that you find it a relaxing room to retreat to at the end of a long day.  If you want to have a TV in your bedroom, choose a flat panel TV that you can mount on the wall.  Add a comfortable chair to relax in a cuddle up with a good book in the evening.

Make sure that you do not clutter your room.  Less is more.  A trend in lighting is to hang a chandelier over your bed.  Make sure that you have enough lighting in the room if you plan to read in bed.  If you do not want lamps on your end tables, you might want to choose hanging lamps on each side of the bed.  If you are renovating the room, you might want to put recessed lighting in over the bed to give the area plenty of light.  Speaking of the bed, choose a variety of decorative pillows of different sizes in coordinating colors to make a statement and make it a focal point in the room.

Keep your bedroom from being boring with a variety of textures and fabrics throughout the room, from the bed covering, to the pillows, to the seating in the room and the drapes.  This will give your room visual interest.  If your room is small, you might want to take the drapes to the ceiling to give the room the allusion of being larger than it is.

Redecorating your bedroom and purchasing new bedroom furniture gives you the chance to change the theme and look of your room and create a new retreat for you to enjoy for years to come.
